Privacy Policy

1. No Personal Data Collected

yish is a local-only tool. Screenshots live exclusively on your computer. We have no user accounts, and no upload-to-cloud feature.

• Local storage: All captures default to ~/Pictures/yish/
• No tracking: We do not collect anonymous usage stats
• No accounts: All features work without signing up for anything

2. System Permissions

To capture screens, yish requests these macOS permissions:

• Screen Recording: Required, used by ScreenCaptureKit

yish does not ask for Accessibility permission and does not register any global hotkey — hotkeys are handled by the optional Keyi.app.

3. Clipboard

"Copy capture to clipboard" is an opt-in setting that ships **disabled by default**. yish only writes to the clipboard if you turn it on.

4. Updates and Feedback

yish checks for updates via Sparkle, hitting only `release/appcast.xml` with no identifying payload. The in-app feedback form is submitted only when you click send.

5. Third-Party Code

yish uses open-source libraries. All third-party source is audited before being bundled.

6. Policy Updates

Changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above; no push notification is sent.
